GTBC is entering a coxed four in the 47th Head of the Charles regatta in Boston, USA in October 2011. The crew comprised of Eduardo Lopez (bow), Tyler Lane (2), Andrew Symington (3), Henno Martin (stroke), and Green Templeton alumna Susan Portalupi (cox) have been training hard to prepare for the demanding race, averaging 70-80 km of combined water and erg distance weekly.

The race will start just before midday on Saturday 22 October 2011, with GTBC initially chasing Free Radical Rowing Club and being followed by Riverside Boat Club. The three-mile course passes under six bridges, as the Charles River winds westward, with Boston on its southern bank and Cambridge on its northern bank.
The Regatta is the world's largest two-day rowing event. First held in 1965, today more than 8,000 athletes from around the world compete in 55 different race events and the Regatta attracts over 300,000 spectators.
The race is a wonderful way for the club to top off a phenomenal 2010-2011 season, as well as to usher in the 2011-2012 season.
Following the race, the crew and GTC supporters are taking the opportunity to reconnect with alumni living and working in North America and celebrate the last year's rowing successes over drinks at a local venue and then dinner.
